Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can you tell me if you have attended
Seminary and if so where?]
A: Yes, I have a bachelor's degree in Theology from Andersonville
Theological Seminary in Georgia. I am working on my Master's
in Pastoral Studies
Q:
I've always wondered "what if" God tested a persons faith in
this method today.
I understand anything is possible, but today's society would
see this person as sick or evil.
This person would be jailed or institutionalized.
Opinion? (This question was asked after the reader studied
the
Offering of Isaac.)
A: Actually that is a great question.
The big difference today is
that God speaks to us through the Holy Spirit as the written word
not through the burning bush or with a loud voice. The
tests in the Bible were very clearly explained by the writers as
they were describing the tempting or testing.
We now have all the examples we need, recorded in the
scriptures to help us to understand the laws, precepts and full
explanation of the salvation story.
God speaks to us through the Holy Spirit while in prayer, meditation
or reading his word. (see The
Works of the Holy Spirit)
Part Four of "The Offering" will include an explanation of
the similarities between God and his Son Jesus and Abraham and his
son Isaac. Especially
concerning the way that God is showing us the way to his plan of
salvation.
